The college application process can often be a stressful period in a student’s academic life. Standout Learning offers one-on-one college advising to help students and parents navigate the entire cycle of applying to college. Sessions are customized for the personal needs of each student’s college path.
Initial Consultation
To help students get the best start on selecting their colleges, majors, and potential career paths, Standout Learning begins the school selection process with a personalized consultation. This important step in the process helps students discover industries and careers that align with their skills and strengths, and therefore focuses their search on the appropriate college or university.
What to Expect
A Standout counselor will guide students and parents through the entire process, step-by-step: • Researching schools • Personal statement guidance and editing • Application process • Which applications are accepted (i.e. Common Application, SUNY, etc.) • Understanding all deadlines, including early decision • Correctly filling out all materials, including supplemental applications • Recommendation letters • Submitting transcripts and standardized test scores • Financial aid • Researching and applying for scholarships • Completing all necessary Federal forms (FAFSA, TAP, CSS profile, etc.) • Acceptance of loans • Enrollment
